"I" Search papers allow students to explore history through their own viewpoints by researching common myths, misconceptions, or questions that they have about the subjects we discuss in class and decide whether the evidence that they find proves that myth/misconception correct. I have provided an outline that can better help students layout their paper.

Outline For Paper
Part 1- The Opening
You will do this part three times! Use the following bullet points to outline the information you found about your topic.
- The subject that I chose is …..
- The Information I already know about the subject is….
- My question about the subject is….
- My research started with a google search of…..
- Write 6 sentences describing your research process (What did you do to find the information you need for Part 3)
You will do this part three times! Use the following bullet points to outline the information you found about your topic.
- Describe the most significant (important) piece of information that you learned about your topic. (1-2 sentences)
- Describe how it changed your thinking about the topic (8-9 sentences)
- Include at least 3 details, examples, quotes to support your thinking
- What I know now that I didn’t know before includes… (Describe the three facts that you found out in Part 3: 1-2 Sentences)
- The information that means the most to me is… (1 sentence)
- What I’ve learned will affect my understanding of my chosen myth because.... (5-6 sentences)
- As a result of this research, I’ve decided that.... (explain whether your question has been answered, if your myth was true or not, if the misconception rang true, etc.)
- Create a References Page that is separate from your essay.
