Hello Booth-fickett Families!
<------Don't have time to read everything? I have an introduction video that you can watch here!!!

Please allow me to introduce myself!
My name is Ashleigh Ishikawa and I am your scholar’s 8th grade Social Studies teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. I graduated from the University of Arizona in 2017 with a B.A. in both History and Geography. This is my fourth year teaching and just like your students, I continue to grow and better myself as an educator!
I have high expectations for your scholar as they begin their final year of middle school and I will do all that I can to help your scholar achieve those expectations, even during these unprecedented times. I believe that all scholars are capable of overcoming any limitations that may have followed them through the years. I believe in making scholars should be supported and encouraged to succeed no matter the circumstances.
In addition to learning about the inner and outer workings of the American government, my focus is to help broaden each scholar's general level of overall educational skills. This includes a deep understanding of research (e.g., primary documents, citations, etc.), writing, speaking, listening, and organization. In other words, the skills your scholar will rely on for future success as they continue on to high school and their post-high school goals.
I believe in a collaborative approach inside and outside of the classroom. Each scholar’s needs are different and require special attention. I want you to know that, one important goal of mine this year is to keep the lines of communication between home and school open as much as possible. With the school year starting at home rather than at school, it will be an adjustment for your scholars and your family. I want to help in anyway that I can. I am available to discuss your scholar's educational needs or any other questions or concerns you may have, every weekday from 8 am to 5 pm.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me at via phone call/text @ (928)793-6286 or email me at [email protected]
